Short-Term/Long Term Disability Insurance Eligibility
You are eligible for short-term/long-term disability insurance underwritten by The Hartford if you are an active full-time or part-time employee of the University of Connecticut, regularly working a minimum of 17.5 hours per week. You must be enrolled in the Connecticut State Employees Retirement System (SERS or SERS/Hybrid) and not in the Alternate Retirement Program (ARP).

This voluntary benefits insurance is available without medical evidence of insurability only during your open enrollment period. You will need to supply medical evidence of insurability after your open enrollment deadline.

You are eligible for short-term disability insurance underwritten by The Hartford if you are an active full-time or part-time employee of the University of Connecticut, regularly working a minimum of 17.5 hours per week.

You may enroll in the Short-Term Disability Plan if your position is represented by the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA), or you are Management/Confidential, and you have chosen the Alternate Retirement Program (ARP). Participants in the Connecticut Employees Retirement System (SERS) are not eligible for this plan.
